**Position Purpose**

The Quality, Compliance & Education Officer is responsible for supporting continuous quality improvement, ensuring compliance with relevant aged care legislation, and coordinating staff education and training. This role ensures that the service delivered aligns with the Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act 1997, and the new Aged Care Act commencing on 1 November 2025, promoting best practice, resident safety, and a culture of accountability and care.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Quality & Compliance**
- Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, the Aged Care Act 1997, and the new Aged Care Act commencing on 1 November 2025, including adherence to the SIRS, Charter of Aged Care Rights, and the Code of Conduct.
- Lead internal audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented. Ability to use auditing software Moving on Auits (MOA).
- Maintain and oversee continuous improvement registers and quality action plans, including the development and monitoring of self-assessment tools and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Prepare documentation and evidence for audits, reviews, and visits by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC).
- Ensure all policies and procedures are current, accessible, and reflective of legislative requirements and best practices.
- Ability to use Moving on Audits (MOA) and care management system (eCase) to manage incident, complaint and feedback processes including reporting, investigation and analysis.

**2. Education & Training**
- Design, deliver, and evaluate mandatory training and ongoing professional development programs using platforms such as Ausmed, ALIS, as well as online and face-to-face delivery methods.
- Maintain staff training records and ensure compliance with mandatory competencies (e.g., infection control, manual handling, elder abuse, chemical safety, medication administration).
- Support the onboarding and induction of new staff with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory responsibilities, while also developing and maintaining the education calendar.
- Promote reflective practice and encourage a learning culture across the organisation.

**3. Continuous Improvement**
- Facilitate regular quality meetings, clinical governance forums and staff engagement sessions.
- Analyse trends from audits, incidents, complaints and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Attend to monthly NQUIP data
- Attendance at Clinical governance, Quality Care Advisory and Quality meetings with executive staff and other key stakeholders
- Support change management initiatives and embed quality outcomes into daily operations.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Health Science, Quality Management, or Education and Training.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
- Minimum 2-3 year’s experience in a similar role within residential and/or home care.
- In-depth understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards, National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program, and associated regulations.
- Experience in delivering training and facilitating staff development in a health or aged care setting.

**Skills & Attributes**
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in conducting audits, writing reports, and analysing and trending data from various sources.
- High level of attention to detail, organisation and time management.
- Ability to influence and coach staff to support quality improvement and compliance.

**Compliance Requirements**
- Current Police Check (no more than 12 months old).
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Full COVID-19 and influenza vaccination.
- Current registration with AHPRA.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
