**The Role**
The JC2SPO Business Manager is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve very complex coordination and governance work within an integrated workforce. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The Business Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement providing expert policy advice. They will have in-depth knowledge of coordination and governance functions being responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies/procedures relevant within that function. They will engage in very complex problem solving and issues management and coordinate and perform sensitive projects impacting on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.

The Business Manager will work closely with, and in support of, the Acquisition and Sustainment teams, contributing by driving continuous improvement, reform and capability uplift within the team.

JC2SPO acquires and sustains joint-information warfare capabilities that are mission critical to all three services of the Australian Defence Force.

You will be a customer-oriented problem solver focused on achieving necessary outcomes. With multiple stakeholders to satisfy and pressure of customers demands, you can plan, prioritise and communicate effectively ensuring team efforts are directed to meeting customers’ needs and keeping them informed.
- Be accountable for managing/leading teams, providing clear, consistent communication, setting clear performance/behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, guiding and developing people.
- Providing high level specialist finance, commercial, information/quality management, recruitment, risk, security, operational/business management support and advice to Director JC2SPO, Project and Product Directors/Managers, and SPO staff;
- Make significant contributions to strategic direction, implementation, and leadership of JC4S Branch and JC2SPO, supporting organisational goals;
- Manage/coordinate resources, including work management, team performance, contractor recruitment and management;
- Provide quality management for procurement processes, contract/invoice management for projects and products; and,
- Build effective relationships, negotiating outcomes with internal/external stakeholders.
