Job Exchange Officer

YMCA Community Centres provide a safe and welcoming space for people to connect, have fun and receive support.

**The Buzz Yarrabilba, powered by the Y **are currently recruiting a **Job Exchange Officer** join their friendly and collaborative team on a **permanent full-time** basis.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

**The Job Exchange Officer** is responsible for leading the management and coordination of the Yarrabilba job exchange program for the Yarrabilba Region consistent with the strategic direction of the Yarrabilba strategic plan.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited too):

- Provide individualised support to participants in their quest to gain meaningful, long-term employment and connect local job seekers with local employers to maximise job employment potential
- Impart up-to-date labour market knowledge and employability skills and abilities to each participant essential to gaining employment and sustaining long-term engagement outcomes.
- Facilitate the delivery of specific education, employment and wellbeing programs to participants from the Yarrabilba region in accordance with prescribed program guidelines and operation plan.
- Seek to expand presence and outreach work of the Exchange in the Yarrabilba Region and other areas as identified from time to time.
- Develop strong relationships with the broader community, including Community Members and groups, support services, not-for-profits, government agencies and representatives from all levels of government.
- Form intentional relationships with participants so that their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs can be supported and developed appropriately, leading to long-term employment outcomes
- Utilise existing organisational resources and create additional resources for workshop delivery accordingly.
- Be accountable for the successful fulfilment of prescribed program KPIs and the fulfilment of timely internal reporting requirements.
- Understand and meet YMCA responsibilities related to agreements with Logan City Council.

**ABOUT YOU**

- Certificate IV in Career Development (or similar qualification) or significant experience in Training and Employment and working towards the completion of the above certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in working with community members who are at risk
- Ability to manage, conflict, complaints and any difficult situations, which may arise;
- Knowledge of the labour market, required skills, and recruitment strategies with the ability to communicate this knowledge to young people in engaging and innovative ways.
- Highly developed skills for working within a team environment to provide individualised support and action plans for young people.
- Willingness and available to work flexible hours as determined by business requirements
- High level of written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to write reports, and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial processes and budgets.
- Queensland Drivers Licence - Open, Class C.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate; or willingness to obtain.
- Positive Notice Blue Card; or willingness to obtain
- ACF Safeguarding Children Certificate; or willingness to obtain.
