Northrop Grumman's MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) provides real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) over vast ocean and coastal regions. The aircraft can fly for more than 24 hours at a time, at a max altitude just above 55,000 feet and an operational range of 8,200 nautical miles.

As Northrop Grumman Australia prepares for the arrival of the Triton UAS, we are setting up and preparing our systems for a seamless transfer of information relevant to the Australian maintenance environment. This includes the creation of a **Mechanical** **Technical Officer** position.

As a key member of the Triton Engineering Team, the **Mechanical** **Technical Officer** will be primarily responsible for improvements and/or updates to the RAAF Triton Aircraft Technical Publications relating to aircraft maintenance. This involves the review of United States Navy (USN) developed content.

The position is ideally based in Mawson Lakes, SA or Springfield, QLD.

**Key elements to this role will be**:

- Producing technical manual updates or documents derived from engineering, military, regulatory and manufacturers’ data
- Identifying error capture methods and developing instructions or procedures as required
- Performing research to create technical manual updates or documents
- Liaising closely with internal/external SME’s, customers and
- Review of applicability to the Australian/RAAF configuration, role and environment (CRE)
- Identifying appropriate Independent Maintenance Inspections (IMI’s)
- Identifying alternative Australian specific Support & Test Equipment (S&TE) requirements
- Ensuring compliance to the Australian WH&S requirements applicable to the conduct of maintenance
- Developing recommendations for changes and amendments either in response to customer requests or from the result of reviewing USN content.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications required**:

- Aircraft Mechanical technical background (Aeroskills Cert IV or Degree qualified engineer)
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools
- Working knowledge of Defence Publication System and DASR Technical Publications
- Experience developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) preferably in the S1000D format
- Demonstrated experience developing and authoring technical publications including publishing or illustration software
- Familiarity of DEF(AUST) CMTD-5629C standard for the production of military technical manuals
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance (NV1 / Secret)

**Desired Experience**
- Experience identifying and performing error capture tasks including Independent Maintenance Inspections using MSG3 and/or RCM methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Defence Supply regulations and frameworks
