**About the role**
Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence force are seeking a SHEQ Advisor to join our South Australian team. The successful applicant will deliver on the SHEQ requirements of the program, utilising systems and process to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management while delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position (12-month contract).

**Key duties, but not limited to**:

- Inform and implement Safety Management Plans across the project.
- Adhere to legislations, regulations and standards.
- Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
- Implementing processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures including fostering a culture of ‘safety and health above all else’.
- Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements.
- Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project through Leaders.
- Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment.
- Assist in delivering the audit program.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with our internal/external stakeholders and contractors/subcontractors.

**Skills & experience**:

- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety or higher qualification. (required)
- Proven success/experience in a similar role. (required)
- Formal training in incident investigation. (Example: ICAM). (Highly regarded)
- Strong report writing skills. (required)
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence. (required)

Must be eligible to hold a Baseline Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
