We are currently seeking a Tenement Officer to join our Technical Services & Innovation team. This is a permanent full time position based out of our Perth Office.
Reporting to Manager Land, you will assist with compliance requirements related to statutory tenement management obligations and reporting as well as the identification of vacant land in key target areas.
**The opportunity**
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements under the _Mining Act_ including payment of rents and rates, submission of expenditure reports, renewals, acquisition and surrender of tenure
- Report and track expenditure to ensure that all obligations are complied with in order to ensure security of tenure
- Issuing critical date reminders and follow up to ensure tenure actions are completed by deadlines
- Monitor the wardens court objection process including lodging objections and negotiating with other parties to resolve matters
- Assisting with the ongoing maintenance of the Land Management databases ensuring that all records are accurate, up to date, fit for purpose and operating in accordance with the System design, and timely mitigation actions are initiated where warranted
- Monitoring tenure conditions, guidelines and legislation relevant to the State in which the tenure resides
- Providing timely and accurate Land Management support to the Exploration and Project teams and other Departments as required
- Monitoring ground for vacancies in key target areas to assist in the expansion of the Company’s tenement portfolio

**We would love to hear from you if you have**:
- Solid experience in tenement management
- Sound knowledge of relevant Mining Acts and Regulations, Aboriginal Heritage Act and Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety requirements in relation to tenement administration
- Experience with LeaseControl and ArcGIS software preferred
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, written and verbal communication as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy
