**The Role**
Maintenance of supply of stock and surgical instruments within the Operating Theatre. To provide information to Nursing Unit Managers and Nursing staff regarding supplies and instrument tray inventory..
**Key activities include but are not limited to**:

- Plan and coordinate instruments for the operating theatre list with the theatre nursing staff.
- Return sterile trays/items to allocated storage area and coordinate delivery of sterile instruments/items with CSSD to ensure theatre efficiency.
- Liaising with stores personnel regarding imprest stock and escalation of supply shortages.
- Assist with restocking of imprest items and consumables.
- Communication and organisational skills
- Ensure sterile stockrooms are maintained to the highest standards of infection control as per hospital policy and Operating Theatre standards
- All areas to be kept clean and tidy
- Maintain storage and handling of sterile items and instruments as per hospital policy and ACORN standards.
- **Selection Criteria**

**Essential**
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
- Communication and collaboration skills across multiple disciplines to achieve a safe, supportive and efficient service.
- Ability prioritise and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software package
- Ability to work effectively independently as part of a high performing team.
- Physical fitness to perform all aspects of the position.
- Desirable*
- Previous experience.
- Understanding of medical/surgical terminology.
- Knowledge of medical supplies, consumables and surgical trays/ instruments.
- Knowledge and understanding of storage and handling of sterile items and instruments.
