**As the Lead for Transaction Monitoring, you will be responsible for**:

- Ensuring compliance with Ongoing Customer Due Diligence obligations.
- Overseeing the entire transaction monitoring life cycle, from rule development to regulatory reporting.
- Collaborating with transaction monitoring merchants to integrate systems.
- Analysing data sets and transaction enquiries to identify emerging ML/TF typologies.
- Developing transaction monitoring rules to detect unusual activity.
- Investigating alerts related to transaction monitoring.
- Collecting additional information and supporting documentation to update customer KYC records.
- Escalating unusual activity to the Chief Risk Officer for Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMRs) to AUSTRAC.
- Preparing information on transaction monitoring activity to assist CRO's monthly board reporting.
- Providing relevant trading across the business on detecting and escalating unusual activity.
- Mentoring and supporting team members.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in the financial services industry combined with a strong understanding of AML/CTF obligations, AML/CTF and Transaction Monitoring.
- Sound level in data analysis skills using tools such as Microsoft Excel or python.
- Experience with Payments is preferable but not mandatory.
- Ability to problem solve complex payment flows and distinguish between legitimate and non-legitimate transactions in an automated and scalable way.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Customer and commercial focus.
- Development mindset.
