- Behavioral and Transactional Monitoring Risk and Compliance role

About Our Client

The client is looking for a professional who will shape a supportive environment where customers can play responsibly.

Job Description

- Behavioural & Transactional Monitoring: Analyze player behaviour and transaction data to identify warning signs of risky gambling (e.g. chasing losses, extended play). Use insights to trigger early interventions and support tools.

- Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with venue managers, gaming staff and front-line teams to embed safe gaming practices. Provide expert guidance on identifying at-risk customers and offer assistance.

- Design Safe Gaming Environments: Influence in-venue environments by developing effective signage, messaging and communications that promote self-awareness (e.g. limit reminders, time-out prompts). Partner with marketing and venue design teams to ensure messages are clear, positive and accessible.

- Staff Training and Education: Create and deliver comprehensive training for staff at all levels. Empower floor staff and managers to confidently have caring conversations with customers about safe play. Develop resources and ongoing coaching to reinforce responsible service of gambling.

- Data-Driven Insights: Lead the use of analytics and risk tools to monitor gaming patterns (e.g. EGM usage, betting history). Report on trends and metrics to senior leadership, highlighting opportunities to improve safeguards.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulators, compliance teams and third-party providers to stay ahead of emerging risks. Represent the company in industry forums or regulatory meetings on responsible gambling issues.

- Innovation and Improvement: Stay current on research and new technologies (pre-commitment schemes, self-exclusion platforms, facial recognition, etc.) to continually enhance our programs. Lead projects to implement innovative harm-minimization tools.

The Successful Applicant

- Deep Sector Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of the hospitality and wagering industry. Experience working with pubs, clubs, TAB or sports betting and casino operations is essential. Knowledge of how gaming rooms operate day-to-day (staffing, customer flow, EGM management, etc.) will set you up for success. Experience with a large multi-site operator (e.g. Endeavour Group or similar) is highly regarded.

- Behavioural Risk Expertise: Strong grasp of the psychological and financial triggers of gambling harm. Skilled at using transaction monitoring tools and data analytics to detect patterns like frequent high-stakes bets, repeated withdrawals, or unusual play spikes. You can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

- Project Leadership & Communication: Excellent project management skills with a flexible, innovative approach. Able to influence and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

- Education & Qualities: A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. in risk, compliance, psychology, or business) or equivalent industry experience. You bring personal integrity, empathy, and a mission-driven attitude. Your passion is helping people and ensuring safe enjoyment of gaming, while maintaining a fair and fun environment for all customers.
