The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is an independent statutory authority that regulates the teaching and early childhood teaching professions in Victoria, ensuring quality teaching and the safety of children. VIT are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Investigators to join the Investigations Team in the Professional Conduct Branch.

**Your new role**

As an Investigator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards of professional conduct for registered teachers in Victoria. Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting focused and timely investigations into professional conduct matters
- Preparing comprehensive reports and briefs on complex issues
- Overseeing work in relation to sensitive matters, which can involve allegations of child sexual abuse.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders and negotiating when required
- Providing support to Senior Investigators and contributing to high-quality investigations
- Collaborating with colleagues across VIT to achieve strategic outcomes

**What you'll need to succeed**

To excel in this role, you will need:Previous experience working as an Investigator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisation and planning abilities
- Problem-solving skills and analytical capability
- The ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships
- Resilience and flexibility
- Qualifications or training in investigations (Certificate IV in Government Investigations preferred)
