**What You Will Be Doing**
The Family Safety Contact (FSC) role provides supportive information, advocacy and connections, via referral, to specialist services to enhance safety and well-being for the partners, ex-partners, children and other family members of the men accessing Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) groups work at Peninsula Health. The FSC clinician works collaboratively with other team members to prioritise safety and wellbeing for women and children and ensure accountability of men. The role includes office-based outreach and can include working in collaboration with other Peninsula Health services as well as external agencies in an integrated way, as required.
**What You Need**
We anticipate you will have:
- Relevant qualification in Social Work, welfare studies, social sciences, community
development or other relevant discipline
- Eligibility for membership with the AASW (Social workers) or full AHPRA registration
(Psychologists)
- Understanding of risk assessment, safety planning, case management and family
violence interventions.
- Awareness of evidence-based practice for offering safety information, advocacy and
connection to specialist supports to family members impacted by the man’s use family
violence.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of family violence for family members
and the broader community.
- An understanding of specialist interventions for men who use family violence, as defined by Family Safety Victoria/No To Violence
