About the role
Temporary Part time opportunity to utilise their lived experience of substance use dependence to provide recovery-oriented peer support, education, and information for clients and/or significant others, as well as increase client participation in the planning, delivery and evaluation of services provided by Metro North Mental Health - Alcohol and Drug Service (MNMH-ADS).
About you
- Fulfil the accountabilities of this position in accordance with Metro North's core vision and values.
- Engage with clients and significant others, providing a positive example of recovery sharing personal experience of managing substance use dependence and broader positive strategies for wellbeing.
- Provide peer support, practical assistance, education, information and referrals to clients and/or significant others, to support their personal recovery journey.
- Support clients to make positive changes towards recovery by identifying strengths and goals and participate in planning to achieve these.
- Utilising experience, skills and knowledge in; client education, support and provide a responsive framework of psycho education that meets the needs of clients and/or significant others engaged with MNMH-ADS.
