About the facility

Our team at Barwon Health provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical services at University Hospital Geelong and McKellar Centre. Our services promote the concept of a cooperative teamwork model, where staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centre care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally the team provide clinical placements for Deakin dietetics students, coordinated by Student Placement Coordinator, and have a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.

**About the role**

The Clinical Dietitian will provide evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services to patients, clients and customers of Barwon Health. The role will support consumers and carers to achieve an optimum level of health independence via:

- Provision of comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated multidisciplinary services
- Provision of consumer-centred care
- Contribution to the development and delivery of high-quality, cost effective dietetics services

Essential: Eligibility for DA Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status or working towards
Essential: Proven experience in the following: clinical nutrition, nutrition education, health promotion, nutritional support, paediatrics or rehabilitation.

Essential: Ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise accordingly.
Essential: Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment.
Desirable: Experience in supervising dietetic students and/or Grade 1 dietitians.
Desirable: Experience and knowledge of quality improvement and service development.
Desirable: A current Victorian Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
