- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.- Our team at University Hospital Geelong consists of over 20 Dietitians and 7 Dietitian Assistants. We provide dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical specialties according to current best practice and professional standards. Our staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centred care, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department provides clinical placements for dietetics students, co-ordinated by our Student Placement Co-ordinator and has a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.**About the role**
- We are seeking an experienced Surgical Dietitian for an acute senior role to oversee the nutrition surgical stream at Barwon Health. Applicants should have significant clinical experience within acute surgical services, strong organisational and communication skills and an ability to build and drive teams. This role will work alongside the other Grade 3 acute clinicians to take responsibility for managing the day-to-day workloads at the hospital within the surgical stream, ensuring prioritisation, handover and discharge planning occurs effectively within the acute team.- As the successful applicant, you will also be responsible for organising and overseeing the Nutrition and Dietetics student placement program across Barwon Health, including clinical, community and food services placements. This role requires a demonstrated ability to work independently with a collaborative approach as you liaise closely with university education providers and dietitians from across Barwon Health services.- All activities of the position will reflect current best-practice and professional standards for Nutrition & Dietetics. The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, program and departmental guidelines. The role will also require flexibility in availability to support service delivery initiatives.

This role will primarily be located at University Hospital Geelong but will include roles at other Barwon Health locations depending on service delivery need, including, but not limited to, The McKellar Centre and Barwon Health Community Health Centres.
