Key responsibilities:

- Edit and produce stories in the content management system, focusing on quality and deadlines.
- Craft engaging combinations of headlines, write-offs and visuals to create compelling “sells” for stories.
- Liaise with reporters and topic editors to sub-edit stories and re-work copy (as necessary) to the highest standards.
- Monitor blogs to ensure live copy is error-free and of high quality.
- Write accurate and effective SEO headlines and captions to improve audience engagement with our stories.
- Enhance stories with other assets such as photographs, videos, graphics, multimedia and key points.
- Curate, edit and schedule newsletters, as required
- Work across various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.

**Qualifications**
What we would like to see:

- Previous experience in sub-editing and production for online publishing.
- Strong understanding of current affairs, with a keen news sense.
- Expertise in content management systems and SEO optimisation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and knowledge of the English language, grammar and syntax.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with legal best practices, including defamation laws.
- Knowledge of business journalism, markets and/or politics will be advantageous.
- Experience with social media and live blogs is desirable.
