Associate Director, Construction Solutions, Perth

**About the Role**

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced construction claims or commercial professionals to join our Perth Construction Solutions team, as either a Senior Consultant or Associate Director. **What You'll Do**
- Advise contractors, subcontractors, lenders, developers, funders and lawyers on contractual, technical and commercial issues that relate to complex construction and engineering projects
- Help clients resolve commercial disputes by establishing a clear, commercial strategy, promoting early resolution
- Where litigation or arbitration is unavoidable, you will assist as an integrated part of our clients' legal teams or with external legal counsel, providing support across the entire dispute life cycle, from research and analysis to arbitration, mediation or trial
- Providing support to Quantum and Delay Experts involved in the preparation of expert reports for the purpose of arbitration, litigation and/or adjudication
- Providing support and assisting senior members of the team involved in the preparation and defence of contractual claims on construction and engineering projects for tier 1 or tier 2 contractors
- Reviewing construction/engineering contracts and advising on relevant terms and conditions
- Analysing complex project data including, for example, costs, labour hours and quantities etc.
- Quantity surveying duties including cost management, commercial or contract management, contract administration
- Programming and planning including assisting with forensic delay analysis
- Primarily Perth based, possibly with some interstate and/or international travel

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 5 to 10 years' claims, commercial, contract administration, cost engineering or quantity surveying experience
- A bachelor's degree (and ideally a Chartered Quantity Surveyor or Chartered Engineer or similar discipline) with relevant professional qualifications
- Experience of preparing and negotiating claims in a commercial environment on construction/engineering projects
- Experience in the quantification and costing and/or commercial management of construction works
- An interest in construction law and a desire to develop that interest
- Excellent written and spoken English
- The ability to work on multiple client matters at one time
- The ability to work with limited supervision
- The ability to work with senior team members and clients in demanding situations with strict deadlines
- A strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism
- Site-based experience
- Excellent MS Word and Excel skills
- Alternative Dispute Resolution; and/or
- Working on construction/engineering matters in Arbitration or Litigation
