Fabrication Supervisor

Due to our expanding operations Havcon Engineering has an opportunity for a Fabrication Supervisor to join our Harvey workshop and oversee our manufacturing operations. This role is a vital link between the workshop floor and management.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Overall supervision of your fabrication team consisting of trades people, apprentices, and trades assistants
- Ensuring that all products leaving the workshop conform to the company quality standards
- Daily Liaising with the Workshop Manager to ensure workflow and production targets are met
- Assist with the allocation of staff and resources to enable products to be manufactured on time and on budget
- Provide clear instructions to employees on how to undertake jobs.
- Coach and support employees to develop as Boilermakers while building their confidence
- Oversee the training of apprentices
- Maintain safe work areas and practices at all times
- Ensure equipment and machinery are regularly maintained.
- Maintain a team culture in the workshop
- As a whole, ensure products are manufactured in a safe, friendly environment, to the highest quality, within time frames and budgets
- Manage employee performance including day to day and formal performance reviews.

**Essential requirements**:

- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker Welder
- Manual driver’s license
- Forklift License
- Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a fabrication workshop
- Effective people skills to be able to gain respect of tradespersons while being able to manage performance.
- Ability to learn and implement new knowledge
- Ability to identify and implement improvements in work processed and the workshop environment
- Minimum working hours are 47.5 hours per week.
- Keen eye for detail

**Desirable requirements**:

- LR Driver’s license (or higher)
- EWP Ticket
- Dogging and Rigging Ticket
- Working at Heights & Confined Space
- CSWIP or equivalent welding inspection certificate
