Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security, Allianz Australia is seeking a thoughtful and driven Cyber Security Consultant to help strengthen and evolve our security posture. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping how we manage cyber threats, embed secure-by-design principles into projects, respond to incidents, and deliver strategic initiatives that matter. This is a governance-focused position—perfect for someone who thrives on influencing outcomes, guiding best practices, and leveraging their technical knowledge or previous hands-on experience to make a meaningful impact.

**About the role**
- Partnering with business teams to embed strong cyber security risk management practices across the enterprise.
- Providing expert advice on cyber risks, issues, and incidents—helping teams navigate challenges with confidence.
- Supporting the development of engaging, data-driven dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders, senior management, and the Board.
- Collaborating with our local and global Cyber Security community to manage threats, respond to incidents, and strengthen our security posture.
- Contributing to the evolution of our threat detection and response strategies, including playbook development and incident management.
- Conducting cyber threat and risk assessments, monitoring emerging technologies, and recommending proactive solutions.
- Championing secure-by-design principles in strategic programs and projects from concept to delivery.
- Identifying and advising on security issues in systems and projects, balancing risk, cost, and usability.
- Evaluating new technologies and recommending security solutions that reduce complexity and enable business agility.

**About you**
- A genuine passion for Cyber Security—bonus points if you know what “Jr frpher lbhe shgher” means.
- Demonstrated at least 3 years of experience in a similar cyber security role. Relevant education and/or certifications (e.g., SSCP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, Security+).
- Strong communication skills—you can explain complex topics clearly and influence with confidence.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams.
- Self-starter with strong planning and prioritisation skills—comfortable managing multiple demands.
- Experience in at least either of the following areas:

- Regulatory trends in financial services and their impact on cyber risk.
- Cloud computing or AI
- Security technologies and their business value.
- IT, Assurance, Risk Management, or Cyber Security support roles.
- Business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, AI).
