An opportunity exists for an experienced Medical Emergency Safety Officer (MESO) to join Lynas Rare Earths. This role is responsible to assist in implementation, monitoring and management of the sites Medical and Emergency Services, systems and processes at Mt Weld operation. This is a 2 years FT contract, FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.

This position reports to the Senior HSE Advisor, due to Mt Weld’s expansion it is currently upgrading it’s emergency response capabilities with the upgrade of new equipment and training ground. This role is suitable for an individual seeking to be part of this journey in the purchasing of and training of the site emergency response team in new equipment.

As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:

- Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) for the Mt Weld Operation and maintain the emergency response and medical facilities, equipment and resources for the Mt Weld Operation
- Facilitate Emergency Response training and ensure competency levels of ER team members are maintained at a high level.
- Coordinate injury management
- Aid in auditing the performance of the Mt Weld Operation and contractors to comply with Mt Weld safety and health policies and procedures and recommend and initiate corrective action where required
- Ensure the Mt Weld Operation meets all HS/ER requirements and monitors, reports and audits the compliance of all these requirements

Qualities We Value
- Experience working in the mining industry in a similar role including coordinating an emergency response team and writing and reviewing medical and emergency procedures
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Efficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to work productively with limited supervision
- Proactive and able to recognise problems/risks towards the company and solutions to mitigate or eliminate these risks
- Exceptional relationship building skills

Skills Required
- Minimum Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance)
- Minimum Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
- Minimum C Class Driver's License (MR Class Driver's License is desirable)
- Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Certificate IV Work Health Safety or OHS (desirable)
