Reporting to the HSET Superintendent, the Medical Emergency Service Officer will fill a key support role at the Extension Hill Iron Ore Project. As a Medical Emergency Service Officer, you will be able to provide first response coverage 24/7. In addition, you will be able to coordinate and support ERT personnel and manage medical centre treatment protocols and poisons permit. As a member of the HSET team, you will work with the Operations team to build operational readiness.

This role will be based at our Extension Hill Iron Ore Operation, WA Midwest and will be on a 8:6 roster.

**Job Requirements**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Respond to site emergencies and always maintaining a state of operational readiness.
- The provision of First Aid Treatment, Basic and Advanced Emergency Medical Care and Basic Primary Healthcare.
- Inspections of ambulance, equipment and facilities and the accurate maintenance of records.
- Maintenance of stock levels and records for consumables in the ambulance.
- Maintenance of all necessary documents and records for efficient functioning of clinic and delivery of healthcare services including, but not limited to, individual medical records and clinic attendance / utilisation data.
- Provision of health & hygiene related awareness & information materials, including presentations to site workforce.
- Administration of drug and alcohol screening tests as and when directed, including sample collection, and screening where necessary.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training to all ERT members.
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of, and participate in, site emergency drills.
- Other duties related to the provision of health and safety activities as appropriate.

**About You**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a mining or heavy industry environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Emergency Response and Rescue
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to work effectively as a part of a diverse team.
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue
- Certificate IV in Healthcare.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing trained (Authorised DAS Collection Officer).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be beneficial.
