**Your Opportunity**:
The position of the PICU Fellow provides direct medical care of assigned intensive and high acuity care patients under the supervision and guidance of a Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) appointed to the Children's Health Queensland Department of Paediatric Intensive Care. The PICU Fellow also provides coordination and retrievals of critically unwell children for the Children's Health Queensland Retrieval Services (CHQRS) collocated within the department and is part of the QCH medical emergency team (MET) which reviews and treats deteriorating and critically ill children throughout the hospital.
**As an integral member of the PICU team, you will**:
Provide clinical duties on the PICU SMO roster under direct supervision of a co-rostered PICU SMO
Deliver state of the art, highly reliable, safe and family-centred care to children requiring PICU and/or CHQRS services
Partner with key paediatric critical care key stakeholders and services within QCH, CHQ or statewide.
Collaborate with any healthcare professionals, interact with internal and external service providers, and connect with patient care givers.
Shape an environment of clinical excellence in PICU and CHQRS through leadership and active participation in quality assurance activities, research, teaching and education for medical, nursing and allied health staff, and continued professional development.
