As part of the Supply Chain Leadership Team, the **National Transport Manager** is accountable for the delivery of an efficient, effective, and safe transport operation that supports our growing customer base.
**In this role you will be responsible for**:
- Lead all safety initiatives in remit and work with stakeholders to deliver theirs.
- Oversee operational performance and DIFOT level
- Drive and implement the Transport Strategy to deliver outstanding Customer Service and cost control.
- Contract management of transport companies and owner drivers, including commercial negotiations
- Be the conduit with Sales for all transport related topics and queries.
- Review existing Transport Systems and partner with IT to deliver innovative solutions that drive improved customer service and transport efficiencies.
- Manage National Vending team and external contractors (merchandisers and drivers)
- Manage National Back to School campaign
**Essential skills & experience required**:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Safety and Transportation at senior levels
- Degree qualified in Logistics, Business, or relevant area
- Demonstrated negotiation skills that driver value for the business
- Strong levels of resilience and ability to prioritise work
- Independent and with a track record of delivering value add initiatives
- High level of financial and cost management of large and complex transport operations
