UGL's maintenance business based at our operation in Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW and we are looking for a Mechanical Fitter with mechanical component overhaul experience to join the team.The role is offered on a casual basis and required for approximately 6 months based on current workload, they will be paid under UGLs Newcastle Operations Enterprise Agreement working Monday - Friday from 5.30am - 2.30pm on a 9 day fortnight, must also be willing to assist with afternoon shifts if required.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role will see you working on a rail component overhaul line conducting diesel engine and airbrake valve overhaul tasks as well servicing and general workshop duties as required.
**About You**
- Australian recognised trade certificate and hold a Certificate of Proficiency - Mechanical
- Previous experience on engine overhaul activities
- Experience with precision measurement equipment
- Excellent fault finding experience
- No afraid to get your hands dirty
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable & punctual.
- Commitment to a safe work environment and practices.
- Ability to interpret schematics and production drawings.
- Work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Focused on quality work & customer service excellence.
- Forklift license is desirable but not a necessity.
- Work cover overhead crane licence desirable but not a necessity.
