About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role
The Gift in Wills Specialist is a relationship-builder with heart and purpose. Reporting to the Head of Giving & Experience, they’ll lead a values-driven bequest program—cultivating meaningful connections, guiding supporters through their legacy journey, and helping secure vital, long-term support for people seeking asylum. It’s a role where compassion meets strategy, and impact lasts for generations.

Key Accountabilities:

- Build and nurture long-term relationships with bequest supporters and confirmed donors
- Develop and deliver strategic, personalised supporter journeys to grow the Gift in Wills portfolio
- Create and manage a bequest membership program to deepen donor engagement
- Coordinate estate administration and liaise with executors to ensure timely processing of gifts
- Use data-driven insights to guide decisions and achieve revenue targets
- Work closely with the Head of Giving & Experience to drive growth and stewardship of legacy giving

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

- Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement or bequest giving
- Strong knowledge of legacy giving trends and supporter pipelines
- Confident managing estate processes and liaising with executors
- Exceptional communication skills - warm, clear and professional
- Highly organised with the ability to manage time and work autonomously
- Personable, diplomatic and always maintains donor confidentiality
- Comfortable with Google Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus)

Desirable Skills & Experience:

- Knowledge of the policy context of practice with asylum seekers visa categories/conditions, and the barriers faced by people seeking asylum in Australia
- An understanding of the philanthropy sector, including the legal and tax framework of the Gift in Wills segment
