**The role**
As a Principal Data Analyst, you'll be diving into complex local council data to identify key performance indicators and trends, helping to improve monitoring, evaluation, and risk mitigation. Your role involves developing and implementing data systems and strategies, ensuring data quality, and producing insightful reports and visualisations to meet business needs. You’ll be pivotal to driving strong, insightful and reliable data that can inform decision-making both at the state and local government levels.

You'll face challenges like balancing competing demands, providing clear advice in a dynamic environment, and ensuring data integrity while adhering to best practices and governance frameworks. Your ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement will be crucial to your success.

**About You**:

- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and reporting to providing insights for improved monitoring and evaluation.
- Capable of driving system development and quality assurance through best practice methodologies and industry standards
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

**Essential requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Social Science, Actuary, Engineering, Computer Science, or Econometrics disciplines, or equivalent experience
