The Deputy Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Health Information and Services (HIRS) Manager in leading and managing a diverse and wide-ranging array of staff in a dynamic departmental environment to ensure optimal service delivery that supports the Network in relation to health records management and medico-legal services. The Deputy Manager will work within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) and Ministry of Health policies, procedures and guidelines as well as Corrective Services NSW or Juvenile Justice NSW rules and regulations as set out in the relevant legislation.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health information management, or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated effective management and leadership/rostering skills including the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal, communication, professional & negotiation skills with a facilitative style of management that motivates and encourages trust, initiative and teamwork.
- Excellent organisational skills, prioritise workload and meet deadlines, both autonomously and within a team in an environment with mínimal supervision.
- Proven experience in the transition towards an electronic Health Record that involves a strong understanding of change management principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerised patient information systems admitted patient data requirements and excellent computer skills, including the use of MS Office products.
- Demonstrated sound understanding of the legislation, regulations, policies and Australian Standards associated with records, information management, medico-legal, privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated high level of PC experience with proven skills in using electronic Health Records and Microsoft programs.
