**Role**:
The Careers and Pathways Advisor works collaboratively with the Careers and Pathways team to:
- Provide information and guidance to students, parents and staff on post school pathways.
- Assist with the delivery of workplace learning for students at the college.
- Support the college in the planning and implementation of Career and Industry events.
- Assist with collecting Post School Destination data and reporting on trends with School Leavers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work as part of the Career and Pathways team to support transition processes into, within and beyond the college.
- Contribute to the development of college policies and programs pertaining to post school pathways.
- Initiate, manage and assist with the coordination of Careers and Industry events.
- Identify and coordinate Workplace Learning opportunities that provide safe, meaningful and relevant experiences for students.
- Debrief students upon completion of Workplace Learning and refer to other college services as appropriate.
- Liaise with industry and tertiary organisations to explore and promote pathway opportunities for students.
- Assist with the creation of Careers materials for dissemination within the college.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of post-school destination data, including follow-up of School Leavers six months after completing their studies at BSSC.
- Manage and maintain the BSSC Jobs Board to share casual, part-time and full-time employment opportunities with students.
- Provide timely and accurate information and guidance to students, parents and staff on post school pathways including university and vocational education and training opportunities.
- Assist students with finding and gaining Casual/Part Time work whilst they are studying at BSSC.
- Support and facilitate student workshops that focus on employability skills, career exploration and post-school planning.
- Support the Pathways, Careers and Tertiary Advice Programs within the college in accordance with the goals of the Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
- Attend and support Careers events which may occasionally include evening and weekend work.
Have and maintain a broad knowledge of:
- VCE, VCE VM, VPC and VET programs for counselling purposes
- Independent, TAFE and University sectors as well as other training opportunities
- Prerequisites and other eligibility criteria for tertiary study and employment pathways
- The employment sector, including processes and contacts
- Careers testing skills
- Careers counselling skills
- Knowledge of local employment agencies and skills providers.
