Venue Manager

We are seeking a full-time Venue Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational needs of our high volume restaurant and bar, Netherworld, located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Netherworld is a 200-person capacity restaurant and bar, frequented by a diverse and inclusive community. We host events that span craft beer, music, gaming, art and more with events happening on an almost daily basis.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Organising and controlling the day-to-day operations of our establishment
- Duty management of key shifts, ensuring the smooth operation for all other duty managers and staff.
- Leadership of a diverse, inclusive team.
- Rostering, hiring and training of staff.
- Stock management, including ordering, POS systems and deliveries.
- Creation of specials and menu changes in collaboration with venue chefs, including creative advertising in line with venue standards.
- Overseeing functions and special events on a daily basis.
- Communications, booking requests management and social media contribution, including the ability to take high quality imagery for advertising.
- Cash handling, sales reconciliations and sales report administration.
- Responsibility for managing issues relating to intoxication and emergencies.
Responsibility of the venue, including engagement with OLGR and local police and Fortitude Valley chaplains.
Reporting to the general manager, assisting in varied day to day needs.
- Relevant management qualifications at the Diploma or higher level.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar managerial role with full accountability for restaurant operations (at least 3 years of manager experience may substitute for formal qualifications).
- You must have the ability to drive revenue and sales and have a sound understanding of financial processes.
- Have an outgoing personality with a positive, inclusive community minded attitude.
- You must be able to multi-task in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure, leading a team of bar and kitchen employees.
- Be available to work flexible hours due to the varied nature and long opening hours.
- Have a good understanding of the focus points of the venue, including craft beer, cocktails, arcade and pinball gaming, modern gaming and community event engagement.
- Hold an RMLV and Approved Managers license.
Location: Fortitude Valley, Queensland
Position Type: Full-time. Hours of Operation are Tuesday to Sunday 9am to 1am. Salary: Commensurate with experience in the range of $70,000 - $75,000
