**About Us**

Greater Northern Community Services provides supports for adolescents and adults living with disabilities to reach their full potential. We work closely with our clients supporting them with daily self-care activities, attending appointments, and accessing the community, with a focus on encouraging and promoting active, healthy, and positive lifestyle choices.

**The Role**
We are seeking an experienced **male Support Worker** for an adult participant in **Frankston, VIC**, with **Acquired Brain Injury (post-cardiac arrest) and ADHD.**

The participant has recently been discharged from an ABI Centre. Services will commence on **29th August 2025**, however **meet & greets will take place prior to this date** to ensure a good fit between participant and support worker.

The ideal support worker will have experience with ABI participants, a mature and patient personality, and be able to provide flexible daytime support. Cantonese language skills are highly regarded but not essential.

**Supports Required**:

- Household tasks (cooking, cleaning, lawn mowing, domestic maintenance)
- Transport to appointments, shopping, errands, and community activities
- Coffee outings and companionship
- Journaling and therapy-based activities
- Routine building and structure
- Support with parenting tasks, including gradual school pickups every second Friday

**Participant Goals**:

- Improve physical health and independence
- Resume cooking and regular routines
- Resume driving (currently enrolled in lessons)
- Return to work
- Rebuild relationship with 10-year-old son

**Participant Requirements (must strictly meet all)**:

- Male Support Worker
- Fluent English
- Mature, patient personality - supportive but not intrusive
- Experience with ABI participants

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide personal, domestic, and community support in a respectful and professional manner
- Assist with household and daily living activities
- Transport participant safely to community activities and appointments
- Support participant with therapy-based activities, journaling, and routine building
- Encourage independence while providing safe oversight
- Maintain accurate shift notes and follow NDIS requirements

**Work Hours**:

- Approx. **20 hours per week**:

- Preferred daily schedule**:10:00am - 4:00pm**:

- Flexible weekdays within these hours
- **Meet & greet shifts prior to 29th August 2025**:

- Ongoing roster to commence officially from **29th August 2025**

**Remuneration**
- You will be paid fortnightly.
- Rates will be competitive and based on experience and qualifications, in line with industry standards (+ Superannuation). Specific rates will be discussed with successful applicants.

**Eligibility Criteria**
- Must meet all participant preferences (see above)
- Relevant experience in disability, ABI, aged care, or individual support
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar (highly regarded)
- Current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009)
- National Police Check (within last 12 months)
- Full Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Must have the right to work in Australia
- Ability to foster a positive, trusting connection with participant and family

**Job Types**: Casual, Subcontract

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
