**Support Worker (Male) - Mental Health Focus**

**Location**: Dandenong Area

**Job Type**: Casual | ⏳ Expected Start Date: 24/06/2025
**Pay Rate**: $33.96 - $41.76 per hour
**Expected Hours**: 8-12 hours per week

**About the Role**

Grace Quality Care is seeking a **compassionate**, **reliable**, and **experienced male support worker** to assist a participant living with complex psychosocial disability, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of mental health and a genuine passion for improving quality of life.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide in-home support (light cleaning, meal preparation, and general assistance).
- Assist with community access (coffee catch-ups, sports clubs, op shops).
- Encourage social engagement and confidence-building activities.
- Follow a participant-led routine and respect individual preferences.
- Maintain accurate shift notes in line with NDIS reporting standards and privacy policies.

**Essential Criteria**
- **Identifies as male** (required due to participant’s trauma-informed care plan).
- Strong understanding of **mental health support**, trauma-informed practice, and social isolation.
- Clear and respectful communicator with emotional resilience and patience.
- Commitment to upholding participant rights, dignity, and privacy.

**Requirements**:

- Current **Australian driver’s licence** and access to reliable vehicle.
- Proof of **work rights in Australia** (citizenship, residency, or visa).
- NDIS **Worker Screening Check** (or willingness to obtain).
- Current **First Aid and CPR** certification.
- Completion of the **NDIS Orientation Module** (or willingness to complete).
- COVID-19 vaccination in line with public health requirements.

**Desirable**
- Mental health, community services, or social work qualifications.
- Familiarity with community supports and resources in the Dandenong area.
