Port Melbourne, Australia VetPartners Full time

Are you super organised and able to organise us too? Are you able to consistently follow procedures to the letter and in every detail? Can you deal effectively with two phone calls at once? Are you proactive and able to keep things running even when you are not there?

At the same time...

Do you delight in making customers happy and ensuring their needs are met? Can you deal with financial matters professionally and with a smile?

And....

Would you like to combine these skills with your love of dogs and cats?

If so, this could be the job for you.

To allow our nurses more time to look after their patients we are in need of a part time receptionist to handle the front desk administration and ensure that our clients consistently get the same high standard of service every day.

The duties of this new important member of our team would include:
1) Answering phone calls

2) Taking messages

3) Greeting clients and admitting patients.

4) Taking payments

6) Following up on lab results, insurance form requests, etc and making sure these are all attached to the patient files.

7) Ensuring the less organised members of staff are aware of their messages/calls, appointments and following them up.

7) Keeping the reception area and consulting rooms tidy

8) Stocking consulting rooms and shelves.

9) Stock management

While it is important you are comfortable around dogs and cats, the role would not require handling them other than on lead or in a box. What is important is that you are able to follow a system and keep it going, whatever happens.

It is also vitally important that you appreciate that our patients are regarded as family members to our clients. You need to be able to empathise with often highly emotional people, and deal with them in a professional manner.

A background as a medical receptionist or a similar position would be desirable but is not required.
