**About the Department for Correctional Services**

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. **Duties**

The Community Service Supervisor is responsible individually, or as a team member, for
- Supervision of offenders assigned to community-based work programs in accordance with statutory, Departmental and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Liaison with a variety of Government and non-Government agencies in relation to the supervision of offenders assigned to various project work, including specific cost recovery work.

**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- A Senior First Aid Certificate is essential.
- May be required to work weekends as directed.

Essential: First Aid Certificate (refer Special Conditions)
Desirable: Relevant trade qualifications and/or certificates of competency training

**Remuneration**
OPS2 - $37.51p/h - $40.35p/h (inclusive of casual loading)

**Additional Information**
This is a 12 month casual pool opportunity, with no guaranteed hours of employment and a 25 percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick leave.
There is a temporary increase in community service supervision within the region which requires an additional one day per week coverage to be filled from this pool.
The primary function of this position is to provide transport, direction and observation of offenders who have been assigned to designated community service work projects.
The position is based out of the Berri Community Correctional Centre in the Riverland, approximately 3 hours drive from Adelaide.
