John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3. The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links.

Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports. As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange. JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.

**Stage 1**: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection - a new high-capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.

**Stage 3**: Domestic Terminal access - an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany.

**About the Role**:
We are currently looking for an experienced Sustainability Advisor to play a key role in providing sustainable outcomes for the project by identifying and implementing sustainability initiatives and supporting the project to meet its sustainability obligations.

Day to day tasks and activities will include but not be limited to;

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Influencing a positive and proactive environmental & sustainability culture across the project
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing sustainability initiatives on the project
- Working collaboratively with key project functions in relation to sustainability requirements
- Supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of project environmental & sustainability management systems
- Facilitating sustainability knowledge sharing and lessons learned at project, business and wider industry level
- Liaising with government bodies and professional organisations on sustainability matters as required
- Delivering sustainability training and inductions for relevant project personnel and contractors
- Managing environmental & sustainability consultants
- Undertaking environmental & sustainability field monitoring and inspections as required
- Tracking and monitoring progress of sustainability rating tool submissions
- Compilation of sustainability rating tool submissions
- Tracking and monitoring against the project sustainability reporting requirements and targets
- Identifying and communicating improvements to project and corporate sustainability management processes

**What You’ll Need to Succeed**:

- Degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent
- ISAP certification and experience delivering an Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating
- Ability to identify, evaluate and implement sustainability opportunities
- Experience delivering a sustainability a management plan and contract sustainability targets
- A minimum of 4 years working in a similar role within the Construction industry
