**About the Role**
The main purpose of this role would be to aid the project managers and engineers with a variety of design tasks on projects.
Objectives:
- Supporting project teams with analysis, design, and reporting tasks.
- Developing and maintaining competencies consistent with the practice of a professional engineer.
- Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, corporate requirements, and systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Technical reporting.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and actively participating in interdisciplinary workshops as required.
- Liaison with Consultants and Contractors as required to manage projects.
- Assisting with marketing and promotion of BG&E including submission of proposals.
- Preparation of construction documentation and specifications.
- Construction support including response to RFIs and attending meetings.
- Writing proposals and reports.
- Directly contacting clients.
- Visiting sites for inspections.
- Scoping of projects.
- Project Engineering and Project Management activities.
- Rail based project work.
**About You**
To succeed in this position, you'll bring experience such as:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of tools is essential, experience using AutoCAD or similar modelling tools beneficial.
- A strong desire to learn and solve problems in a team context.
- The ability to multi-task and self-prioritize workload.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
