Join the Parliamentary Security Service, committed to delivering a professional security service to the Parliament of Queensland. Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for Members of Parliament, staff, and visitors within the Parliamentary precinct.
Your duties and responsibilities as a Casual Parliamentary Security Officer will see you:
Perform security duties within the Parliamentary Complex.
Assist Members of Legislative Assembly, staff, visitors, and the public at access and reception points.
Monitor using electronic surveillance equipment.
Conduct regular patrols.
Assist State and/or Civil Authorities with Parliamentary security.
Assist with emergency evacuations.
Operate the Control Room and document incidents.
Deliver high-level customer service.
Key Strengths for Success
3-5 years of experience in a security setting.
Proven communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to learn security procedures and systems.
Currently hold a First Aid Officer certificate.
Multiple positions are available to provide cover during rostered shifts, including 12 hour shifts. Shift times will vary in accordance with requirements at the Parliamentary Precinct.
