The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Corrections Intelligence & Training Specialist to develop and lead intelligence training for intelligence practitioners and stakeholders.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) delivers high quality services to Victorians to provide a justice and community safety system that works together to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and localised prison intelligence units located at public and private prison facilities in Victoria.

About the role
The Corrections Intelligence and Training Specialist is a key member of the Projects team which leads the development, management, and delivery of intelligence training to intelligence practitioners across CV. This role engages collaboratively with colleagues and sector partners to research and innovate best practice training. The Corrections Intelligence and Training Specialist builds intelligence capability in CV by being ahead of emerging risks and trends that threaten Victoria. The role contributes to delivering a safer community and maintaining the security of Correctional facilities through development and implementation of leading-edge intelligence practices, policies and procedures.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Lead the development and delivery of intelligence-based training for CV staff.
- Manage and develop intelligence staff assigned to assist the development and facilitation of Intelligence training within CVIU and CVIS.
- Contribute to maintaining effective liaison with key external agencies and stakeholders including Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police, Australian Crime Commission, and other law enforcement and correctional agencies.

About you

**Skills and experience**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and information management systems, preferably Palantir and/or other data managing technologies.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- An existing Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance, otherwise one must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Undertake CV Intelligence Development Program - Introduction to Intelligence course within 6 months of employment.

**Desirable**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or thematic knowledge.
- An existing Cert IV in Training and Assessment, or a willingness to obtain the qualification upon securing the role.

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.
At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

**Acceptable evidence includes**:

- COVID-19 digital certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
