To provide operational support in the Central Specimen Reception section of the laboratory. The Clinical Assistant in Central Specimen Reception reports to the CSR manager
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse role. Duties include data entry, specimen handling, processing and non-technical laboratory duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and without supervision. Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and with members of staff.
- Demonstrated ability or ability to quickly learn to utilise Laboratory Information Systems and ieMR
- Demonstrate above average attendance and punctuality
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, procedures policies and regulations which impact on the position, the Department of Health Code of Conduct, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as work place health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.

- It may be a requirement to work at Robina Campus periodically with discussion via the Hiring manager.
- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Assistance or the equivalent would be an advantage
- The successful applicant will be required to participate in the continuous shift roster and be available for all shifts over a 24hour, 7 day a week, 365 day/year roster including weekends and public holidays.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
