**(HEO7) $91,187 and $101,987 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.**

**This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET) and work within the Chemical and Analytical Services Technical team.**

The role will provide expert advice and support to students, academics, research staff for the coordinated delivery of specialised teaching and research activities. The role will ensure that the laboratory facilities are developed and maintained in line with the strategic direction of the Faculty. The successful incumbent will have high level knowledge and technical expertise in the use of analytical and/or chemical equipment as well as management experience in running complex laboratory environment.

The Technical Services Team delivers outstanding support to students, academics and researchers for enhancing education and research output. The Technical Services Team provides a platform for collaboration across the University, broad industry involvement and community engagement through focused customer service based on exceptional personnel skills and expertise. The Technical Services Team works closely with Academics and professional teams as well as the Infrastructure Branch to ensure efficient utilisation of teaching, office, workshop and laboratory space. Being committed to Health, Safety and Well being (HSW) values, the team manages safe operations across the Faculty laboratories and workshops.

The Chemical and Analytical Services team supports the activities of the SET faculty, in the areas of chemistry, chemical analytical facilities, chemical life-cycle and chemical waste management. The team supports undergraduate and postgraduate education, training and research with both national relevance and global outreach and networks in the public and private sectors.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Work, Health and Well being and chemical safety management
- Demonstrated effective management experience in running an analytical, chemical
- or bio-engineering laboratory environment
- Knowledge of analytical and/or chemical equipment and hands-on experience in operation of such equipment including FTIR, Raman, Zetasizer, UV-Vis; TGA and XRD etc
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical services and principles associated with achieving customer focused outcomes
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative to learn new skills and processes to achieve an outcome.
