**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Treatment Plant Operator to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Supervisor Plant & Pumping Stations, you will assist in the operation of the Lithgow Water Treatment Plant and Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland Sewage Treatment Plants. Duties include management, reporting, record keeping and maintenance at Water and Sewage Treatment Plants and maintenance of sewerage and water pumping stations. This position maybe required to assist with call outs. For the duration of the traineeship you will complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations through a combination of formal training and on the job experience.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Assist with managing water and wastewater treatment plant operations including performing daily inspections and maintenance, routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Assist with managing water and wastewater pumping stations including performing inspections, routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Assist with maintaining water and wastewater mains and services including clearing blockages.
- TAFE/Study requirements including completing assessments as stipulated in the course outline with designated timeframes

- Satisfactory academic record
