Electrical Engineering Technician

**Role Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics and layouts for crane and hoist systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Carry out inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment used in overhead cranes and hoists.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of control systems, cabling, and power distribution for lifting equipment.
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Calibrate, adjust, and replace components to ensure equipment operates within performance and safety standards.
- Collect data and record job results, preparing clear technical reports and documentation for internal use and client review.
- Support Senior Technicians/Engineers in developing modifications or upgrades to improve crane reliability and performance.
- Ensure all tasks are conducted in line with company safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to source parts, materials, and technical information when required.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and recommendations for repairs or system improvements.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job support to apprentices and technicians under supervision.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical drafting, preferably within the crane or lifting equipment industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and Australian electrical codes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
