**Work location**:Primarily Perth based, site based as required

**Roster**:5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

**_ In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet_**

**_ We have an opportunity for a highly skilled Process Operations Specialist to join our team working on compressed gaseous & liquid hydrogen production, and anhydrous ammonia and H2 refuelling infrastructure. This consists of heavy mobile equipment, marine equipment as well as fixed plant facilities._**

**_ The role will be primarily based in Perth (Hazelmere) and will require travel to the mine sites as and when needed and will report to the Compliance Superintendent._**

**Key accountabilities will include**:

- Operating semi-automated and automated packages to refuel compressed gas hydrogen storage equipment, Liquid Hydrogen Storage, and Anhydrous Ammonia storage equipment.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop and train a team of multi-disciplined team members to safely operate the compressed gaseous and liquid hydrogen and ammonia equipment.
- Ensure procedures are establish and followed for monitoring and controlling prototype facilities, including high-pressure tanks, cryogenic fluids facilities, pumps, compressors, heat control systems, fuel cells etc
- Support facility start-up and shutdown operation.
- Ensure operational logs are maintained to a high standard
- Performing trouble shooting activities
- Support maintenance activities or supporting the maintenance team
- Ensure work permits and lock-out/tag-out processes are in place and adhered to.
- Ensuring system inert gas purging pre and post operation
- Lead in a range of risk assessment processes, FAT. SAT, HAZOP, HAZID, CMP, PSSR’s as well as lessons learned initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with WHS standards. Including safe operating procedures and WA Dangerous Goods regulations

**Qualifications and skills required**:

- Cert III Process Plant Operations PMA30120 minimum, Cert IV in Process Plant Technology preferred, or Tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
- Trade qualification (dual trade electrical or mechanical)
- 10 years’ experience in handling H2, NH3 or similar in chemical/petrochemical facilities.
- Control room operations - operating and monitoring plant via HMI, alarm management, plant start-up and shutdown, maintaining operator logs, emergency response
- Maintenance - permit to work, isolation philosophies and requirements, de-pressuring via vents and drains, N2 purging, breaking containment, inspections
- Commissioning and construction - equipment function testing, pressure testing
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) and process flows
- Lead continuous improvement processes
- Strong leadership qualities to foster a safe and healthy work environment
- 10 years’ experience in handling H2, NH3 or similar in chemical/petrochemical facilities.
- Familiar with DCS/SCADA/PLC Systems.
- Computer literacy Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Teams DMS.
- Highly developed communications skills, written and verbal.
- Highly developed leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to influence others.
- Field operations - inspections/monitoring/operating/troubleshooting process equipment in the field (valves, relief valves, instrumentation, heat exchangers, pressure vessels), mechanical isolations, manual sampling.
- Gas Testing Atmospheres/Confined Space
- Valid Driver’s License
- Hazardous areas qualifications (EEHA desired)
- Senior First Aid
