The Department of Regional NSW was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues. The Department is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.**About Our Team**
Our Regional Programs and Regional Recovery branches ensure sector excellence and leadership in the design, delivery and evaluation of programs to support social and economic outcomes for regional NSW, and enabling people, businesses and communities to recover from disasters including flood, bushfire, COVID-19 and drought. The Regional Recovery branch includes the Office for Regional Youth and provides support to the Minister for Regional Youth and coordinates critical Regional Youth Task Force activities.
- We play a crucial leadership and community-facing role that supports improved outcomes in economic development and community wellbeing for regional NSW. Our programs and staff are focused on growing regional economies, communities and youth and improving quality of life for regional communities.
- Grant Management & Finance oversees all grant payments and project monitoring for the programs delivered by the broader Regional Programs team. Sophisticated systems in contracting, compliance, and risk management ensure projects and programs are delivered efficiently to benefit regional communities. Since 2019, the team has delivered more than 1,500 projects across regional NSW.

Due to a significant period of growth and expansion within the Regional Programs and Regional Recovery branches, the Department of Regional NSW have a number of exciting opportunities available for experienced and knowledgeable Grants Advisors to begin their exciting journey with us.
- In the role of
- **Grants Advisor**, you will facilitate and coordinate stakeholder engagement, variations, monitoring and compliance activities on a number of different grant programs. You will work with the team in the development and implementation of policies, strategies and standards for management, governance, and administration to enable effective evaluation and assessment of grants.
- Your day will consist of but not be limited to:
- Providing customer-facing advice, information and guidance to grant recipients, contributing to the efficient and compliant management of regional NSW-focused grants.
- Undertake analysis of grant payment claims and contract change requests, and make recommendation to senior officers for approval
- Draft funding agreements and negotiate terms of agreements with grantees
- Co-ordinate and contribute to grant policies, projects and activities that support the economic development of businesses and industries in NSW.
- Draft Departmental correspondence and Ministerial briefing notes.

We are seeking a proactive and results driven team player, who can maintain effective stakeholder relationships, problem solve, manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines in a challenging, fast-paced and highly rewarding government department.
- This might be the role for you if you have:
- Grants management or relevant professional experience (essential)
- Knowledge of SmartyGrants or similar grant management systems (desirable)
- Sound understanding or ability to quickly learn government processes and legislation (highly regarded)
- Experience in records management systems
- Exceptional financial and administration skills
- Ability to manage complex data and financial information effectively with a high level of attention to detail, in a high volume environment
