We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team and help us deliver innovative, high-quality care to individuals with disabilities. **Position Overview**:
As a Disability Support Worker at Maxi Care Plus, you will be integral to providing holistic care and support to people with physical, intellectual, and/or sensory disabilities. Your role will involve assisting participants in their daily activities, encouraging social and community participation, and empowering them to live their best lives. You will be part of a dynamic and dedicated team, working closely with NDIS participants to help them achieve their individual goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Personal Care & Support: Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility, promoting dignity and independence at all times.
- Social & Community Participation: Support participants in accessing community-based activities and opportunities that align with their interests and goals, promoting social inclusion and engagement.
- Developing & Implementing Care Plans: Work collaboratively with participants, their families, and other support professionals to develop individual care plans and assist with the achievement of personal goals.
- Health Monitoring & Wellbeing: Administer medication, monitor health conditions, and ensure that participants’ overall well-being is managed effectively. Liaise with healthcare professionals when required.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided, progress, and any incidents, in line with NDIS guidelines and legal requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other support workers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.

**Essential Qualifications and Skills**:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or a related field (highly desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with participants and their families
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude towards people with disabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- A valid National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- A current driver’s license and reliable transport (depending on the role and location)

**Desirable Attributes**:

- Experience working with individuals who have a variety of disabilities (physical, intellectual, sensory, etc.)
- Understanding of the NDIS framework and its policies
- Experience or training in manual handling, behaviour support, or other disability-specific areas
- Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings
