Huntly Primary School has been an integral part of the Huntly community for over 150 years. The school is located on the northern fringe of Bendigo.

Huntly Primary School has grown significantly over the past 4 years and projections indicate this will continue. Our current enrolment is 320 students. Huntly Primary School is currently going through the process of a school build, with a master plan recently developed. The build will commence in 2025 and when completed will allow the school to cater for 425 students.
Huntly Primary School caters for an increasingly diverse student population, with the proportion of students with English as a Second Language being 4% and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students being 8%.
The leadership framework is comprised of the Principal, Learning Specialist and Wellbeing, Literacy and Numeracy leaders.
We have 19.2 EFT teaching staff and 7.33 EFT education support staff (classrooms).
The school has 14 classrooms, structured into four teaching units: five Foundation/1 classrooms, two grade 2 classrooms, four grade 3/4 classrooms and three grade 5/6 classrooms.
Specialist instruction includes; Physical Education, Performing and Visual Arts and a Chinese language program for the Foundation-6 student cohorts.
The School Wide Positive Behaviour Program provides a strong basis for the school¿s wellbeing practices.

The primary focus of the range 1 classroom teacher is on further developing skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner with structured support and guidance from teachers at higher levels and the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
These teachers teach a range of students/classes and are accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. Range 1 classroom teachers are skilled teachers who operate under general direction within clear guidelines following established work practices and documented priorities and may have responsibility for the supervision and training of one or more student teachers.
At range 1, teachers participate in the development of school policies and programs and assist in the implementation of school priorities.
Teachers at range 1 are responsible for teaching their own classes and may also assist and participate in policy development, project teams and the organisation of co-curricula activities.
