Cutting Edge is a leading provider of technical solutions within the media industry with an internationally established reputation of high calibre delivery and problem-solving. **About the Role**: The Editorial department supports the ingest, review and delivery of sequences within the VFX pipeline. An Editor will track input/output versions from both internal and external clients. They ensure an updated edit of the film/sequence is maintained and flag any discrepancies with Production, while also aiding in ensuring the VFX department has everything they need to complete shot work. The edit trainee may use a variety of editorial tools such as Avid, Premiere Pro, Resolve, Hiero and Final Cut Pro to undertake their day to day tasks. This role has the overall responsibility of providing media management and editorial support on VFX projects. **Your key duties and responsibilities will be, but are not limited to**: - Provide innovative solutions to enhance the workflow and creative output of the VFX editorial team through automation and enhanced user interfaces. - Keep abreast of techniques and tools for VFX editorial and media management, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate. - Assist in the configuration of VFX projects for media formats and colour management manage VFX editorial tasks - Acquire media in a range of formats from clients into the VFX editorial systems - Export media from editorial systems for use within the VFX operations - Compile updates of timelines for supervisors to review VFX work within the edit context - Prepare media for client review and final delivery - Understand and advise on media codecs and conversions, such as camera source and QuickTime media - Understand and advise on media formats related to VFX production; such as resolutions, aspects, masks, colour spaces and colour depth - Sharing your specialised knowledge with colleagues - Create and maintain documentation - Handle digital logistics, transferring data between the studio and it’s clients and vendors, using a variety of protocols, such as sftp, aspera, filerunner. - Handle database IO, populating Shotgun with editorial and camera information from a variety of sources. - Offer insight to the creative team regarding story for context and continuity - Creatively edit and finalise showcase material under the direction of VFX supervisors. **Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience**: - Knowledge of editorial and finalling software - Knowledge of editorial processes and techniques - Knowledge of colour management with OCIO - Attention to detail for audit & QC processes on ingest, edit sequences and deliverable media - Ability to help shape efficiencies in the workflow with supervisors & Pipleine TD’s - An excellent working knowledge of Nuke - Strong understanding of colour space principles - Excellent eye for detail, composition, colour and lighting - Experience working on Feature Film or Television projects - Ability to problem solve, value ad and work to deadlines - Thrive in a creative environment with a dedicated team of professionals - Ability to think on your feet - Proven experience in a similar role, managing a team and leading a show - Previous experience liaising and collaborating with clients - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Efficient, proactive and strong work ethic **To be successful for this role**: You will be a proactive team player and a people person with a can-do attitude You are passionate about the feature film and television industry and get thrills from supplying sound IT leadership and support.
