**About the Role**:
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join finance team in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing and monitoring customer credit accounts, ensuring timely payment of outstanding debts, and minimizing credit risk to the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and monitor customer credit accounts
- Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures
- Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers
- Analyse and assess credit risk associated with new and existing customers
- Initiate collection actions on overdue accounts
- Negotiate payment plans with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding debts
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve credit-related issues
- Provide regular reports on credit control status to management
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years of experience in Credit Control or a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
