**About the Role**
LOCATION: ZILLMERE (8MINS FROM CHERMSIDE WESTFEILD)
Two shifts available**:Must have overnight availability to start with**
Moring shift: 6am - 2pm
Afternoon shift: 2pm - 10pm (with 10pm-6am sleepover)
- Please Note**:_participant is a 27-year-old woman who is high needs with complex behaviors. This participant requires a very resilient and reliable team

The support worker role listed is to provide compassionate care whilst supporting Alpha’s participants to achieve their set goals.
It is important to have _Clear Verbal and Written Communication Skills_ as you will be expected to collaborate with a team of supporting allies, including our participant's family members, Allied Health and additional support workers. This participant thrives on a regular routine, it is essential to communicate an informative handover between the previous and oncoming staff - all necessary education and training will be provided prior to commencing shifts.

**PARTICIPANT REQUIRES CONSISTANCY - PLEASE DO NOT APPLY, IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE UNABLE TO HANDLE COMPLEX BEHAVIORS**
**The successful applicant must be happy to work long-term with the participant. Day-to-day tasks include**:

- Assistance with all Personal Cares
- Assistance/prompting with medication
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Light household duties
- Maintain critical thinking and problem-solving abilities throughout shift
- Must be proactive and take initiative
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant's level of independence
- Great communication skills - must document **all** relevant information
- Happy to build rapport with participant, family and supporting team
- Manage participants’ behaviors and reporting/documenting any escalations
- Must have the ability to redirect and respond to participant’s behaviors appropriately
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
- A passion for assisting individuals who struggle with a disability to improve their quality of life

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who holds _a_ _minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support_ (or equivalent) and the following qualifications:

- Clear _Verbal and Written_ Communication
- Critical thinking with the ability to problem solve - must have basic ‘common sense’ and knows how to take initiative
- Have a basic understanding of PBSP and RP
- Have a basic understanding on how to document incident reports
- Experience with Complex behaviors _(not essential, but highly recommended)_
- Experience with De-escalation and Redirection Techniques _(not essential, but highly recommended)_

**Additionally, you will need**:

- Working with children card (Blue card)
- NDIS Worker Screening check (Yellow Card)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Current Police Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Driver's License
- Registered personal vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and a willingness to use for transporting clients (when required)

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $37.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
