- The Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL), part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), is a leading Australian infectious diseases reference laboratory located in Melbourne, Victoria. VIDRL is now part of the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (the Doherty). The Doherty is a joint venture between the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Melbourne. VIDRL provides the Victorian Department of Health with virology and Mycobacteria public health reference laboratory services, including surveillance, outbreak investigations, reference testing and research.

**Your new role:
- Work collaboratively within a team across VIDRL and the University of Melbourne to ensure the completion of the buildings' scheduled and reactive maintenance to ensure we maintain 24hr 7 day a week service and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist with the performance and maintenance of VIDRL assets including plant and equipment and monitoring of the Building Management System (BMS) - respond to alarms and report incidents.
- Assist with the performance and maintenance of the Doherty Institute’s High Containment Laboratories and Effluent decontamination System (EDS).
- Help coordinate contract work within the building and remain versatile to provide support for all general trade and repair work.

- You have relevant and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in engineering or a technical trade.
- You have a wide knowledge of building services including mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing services.
- You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
- You are well organised can prioritise work and operate under pressure.
