**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
In the role of Communications Advisor, your key role is to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to provide strategic and practical communications support and advice. You will deliver campaigns, manage and produce a range of communications to engage employees and strengthen and shape SMCT's strategic narrative and business strategy. The position supports the Senior Communications Lead to develop and deliver SMCT's external and internal communications strategies and activities, including the corporate content calendar, media relations and community-facing projects.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of SMCT's internal communications strategy to support organisational growth, change and business objectives
- Drive an internal communications approach that promotes positive corporate identity and builds consistent understanding of the business's objectives and values
- End-to-end project management of agreed internal communications projects and campaigns
- Provide content development support and strategic communications advice for key external communications projects
- Identify and develop media stories and contacts
- Provide copywriting, proofing and editing expertise for external materials, channels and mediums such as the SMCT website, printed and digital publications, scripts and speeches

**ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, public relations, writing or related industry, particularly in internal communications or media relations environments
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofing skills to and experience developing content for a variety of media platforms, styles and audiences
- Proven ability to establish and maintain sustainable relationships with stakeholders
- Proven ability to negotiate outcomes, identify potential risks and issues, and meet competing deadlines; at times working under pressure to establish priorities to meet changing conditions
- Skilled verbal and written communicator capable to interact with all levels of employees across all departments as well as the Executive and Trust
- Proven ability to develop and implement communications plans
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR or related area - Highly desirable.
