**About this role**:
A highly-regarded heritage consultancy & architectural practice is seeking a Heritage Architect / Consultant to join their mid-size Melbourne studio. Our client is recognised for their specialisation in heritage architecture and the successful delivery of such projects, ranging from Residential through to Public and Commercial. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated and dynamic studio in contributing to Melbourne's built environment.

**Key responsibilities**
- Demonstrate specialist experience of working on conservation, repair and reuse of heritage buildings
- Bidding and tendering for small to large scale heritage and conservation projects
- Managing and leading teams as well as having an interest and understanding of project management
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and lead the design of buildings whilst keeping the original, historic design intent in mind
- Involvement in heritage planning and management through analysis and assessment of historical environments
- Preparation of Heritage Impact Statements, Conservation Management Plans and Conservation Work Schedules
- Assessment of Heritage issues, preparation of written advice throughout construction projects
- Lead heritage and conservation projects across Australia including the private sector as well as Local and State Government clients

**Skills & Experience**
- Bachelor or Masters in Architecture or equivalent
- Proven skills in report writing
- Holistic understanding of heritage issues, including an appreciation of the built environment and cultural landscapes
- Sound knowledge of conservation policies and practice
- Ability to solve problems and negotiate acceptable solutions to issues involving heritage matters
- Solid understanding of complex heritage projects and technical architecture
